The Beckoning (2020)
This dance short film addresses the historical violence of displacement inflicted on the Black body in hopes of signifying the inherent beauty of Black American life. The film features original poetry by Destinny Fletcher, original music by Kellen “KLASSIK” Abston, and cinematography by Derek Schmitt.
The Dancing Granny (2022)
Based on the West African folktale of Anansi the Spider, the play is a joyful celebration of storytelling, song, movement, community and the beauty of everyday life. This production was a collaboration between First Stage Children’s Theatre and Ko-Thi Dance Company.

This zine anthology series will focus on themes of water and its relevance to the city of Milwaukee. The zine contains poetry, essays, photography, original artwork, and other original contributions. The second installment of the dance short film series features myself as a portrayal of a traveling man or “wanderer”. It explores themes of finding home and belonging as a commentary on societal expectations of race and gender through performance. The film features cinematography by Derek Schmitt.
